Tap Poetry Workshop at Lighthouse

  • Lighthouse Writers Workshop 1515 Race Street Denver, CO 80206 United States (map)

Language in every culture has rhythm, a primal, universal feature that wordsmiths use to write poetry, rap, or prose. In this session, we'll think differently about your poetry by putting the rhythm of your words into your feet. We'll explore how rhythm, music, rap, poetry, and dance are interconnected. For example, you might end up tap dancing to your poetry, or turn your tap dancing into poetry. No tap dance (or poetry) experience necessary. Tap shoes will be available.

Friday 500’s are every second and fourth Friday of the month in Denver, from 4:30 to 6:30 PM. Grab a chair and spend the first hour writing and then join us in the Grotto for a group activity in the second hour. Snack and drinks are provided. These events are free for Lighthouse members; non-members are welcome to visit once before joining.
